Better Together

Your challenge is to create a tool, app, or resource that helps close a gap that causes people to experience inequality. This combination of humanity and technology should eliminate or lessen a systemic issue and educate the user so they can grow.

WeCare : Wealth Care Arsenal

Summary

WeCare is a web-app that tracks the wealth distribution of the nation’s citizens to make the gap of wealth distribution not too far. Not only this app save poor people’s lives, but also their hopes, and dreams. The app enables organizations, businesses, and private individuals to support a poor family of their choosing. The app also keep tracks of money distribution by showing graphs from the database and uses algorithms to better track it in the future and comparing them to other countries. All men and women are created equal, both have voices that needs to be heard like we do every day as we see and talk to thousands of people using the internet.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic has driven poor people to be disregarded and left out by those who have better means of living. Based on the concept of non-profit organizations, by donating money to these people we asked ourselves, will our system be any different? And how can the existing data be used as an algorithm to predict the wealth distribution of a country in the future? So our team believed that a website would be well suited because the data used for the graph have to be live which we can then later on be created as a mobile app. The data used would have to be one of the government’s existing statistical data which we can use the algorithm to predict future poverty rates. We have found one of CSA resources that would make us compare both poverty rates of two or more countries that could be used by our governments monitoring. The ultimate goal of this system is to eventually not let a single person be left behind in growth because if poverty will not be addressed and not kept in check, revolutions will arise.

How We Developed This Project

To have a detailed graph info and machine learning information of WeCare system, we needed wealthy and kind hearted people register and do transactions by using the site to ensure an accurate reading of the data given to our database. We used Form.io as database storage for now. The team needed to create a gist that would make our system unique than those of existing ones. The question that came up from one of our team members was "what if we made it exclusive to those families in need?" That was the sole purpose of creating an account and being able to see and hear the people you are going to donate your money. So the team searched for qualified families that would become an exclusive beneficiary through our app. So the goal for the meantime is to create a platform where we can connect the beneficiary and the donator using the wecare app.

After developing the WeCare app, we double check and verify if the app is easy and user-friendly for the donator to use. The wireframe and functionality we’ve drawn is at the link below.

After this our designer searched on templates to see if there are already existing templates like the ones we've drawn. He went to a site called html5up.net and downloaded the Massively template.

Future

On the possible future when we still have the time for an innovation to predict future poverty rates and possible outcome of wealth distribution in the future might sustain if the world keeps using our app.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used CSA data as a graph display in one of our dashboard page together with other country's data.
