Better Together

Your challenge is to create a tool, app, or resource that helps close a gap that causes people to experience inequality. This combination of humanity and technology should eliminate or lessen a systemic issue and educate the user so they can grow.

Anskee Waiting Shelter with internet communication and earthquake monitoring and warning system.

Summary

Anskee created a waiting shelter which will monitor earthquake and warn the public of the occurrence of an earthquake in usable time using accelerographs and validated by space data.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Anskee aims to develop an alternative earthquake monitoring system that uses earth data and validated by space data monitoring.

Anskee works by monitoring the p-waves emitted by an earthquake then transmit such information to the server which in turn ask for validation from space if there is evident movement before issuing the warning to the public.

We hope to achieve a minimal time from monitoring and warning and less error in monitoring of earthquakes.

How We Developed This Project

At the start of the year, Mindanao was rocked with a handful of earthquakes and we are alarmed by the delay of the NDRMMC Warning. After studying the process of how the government agencies, the Telco's and other involved organizations were tackling such concern we aim to look for other possible alternatives thus filling the loopholes in the monitoring and warning systems.

To develop the project we use accelerographs to monitor p-waves and internet to communicate with space data to validate the earth movement.

We see that space data can provide more useful tools in monitoring earthquakes and offers better service.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Space data is used by providing GPS ID to the stations and monitoring such stations to monitor any earth movements.

Data of global hazards is also use to check history as added validation service.

With the use of Space Data early prediction can be made and provides a wider reach to warn the public.
