Better Together

Your challenge is to create a tool, app, or resource that helps close a gap that causes people to experience inequality. This combination of humanity and technology should eliminate or lessen a systemic issue and educate the user so they can grow.

Combating Cyberbullying

Summary

NASA has published an article on the theme cyberbullying the 21st century violent attack With that we saw the need for a solutionThe subject is little publicized and can take lives So we created two applications SafeUs for teenagers and adults ours online platform with the concept of forums, being of help with health professionals, psychologists and psychoanalysts. In addition to our virtual assistant. And for children the Apollo app Where there will be an interactive astronaut who will be a friend and virtual personal monitoring assistantThat through APIs of communication with other applications or software will identify possible cyberbullying Educating on the subject and alerting parents

How We Addressed This Challenge

The challenge chosen was the Best together, and we approached Cyberbullying, as it is a subject unfortunately rarely talked about on social networks and never published on TV, there are forums, however little known, which makes it difficult for people to find a place to have support. Our project would include the development of the Apollo project, where the concept would be the application that would be installed by the parents in the operating system used by the children where they would register a personal contact for easy access to communicate with them, an application where there will be a fictional character which we call Apollo, an interactive astronaut who will travel on the screen with the children, being a friend and a virtual assistant to accompany them. In technical terms, through APIs and using the communication interface with other applications and software, using Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks and analyzing the creation of a database of words, data and concepts to identify possible cyberbullying, thus educating people. children that it is not correct to practice cyberbullying, and at the same time helping those who were victims, how to deal with the situation, offering support to improve their self-esteem, and along with that automatically reporting what happened to the child's parents, who can always be inside your children's daily lives, regardless of their routine. And it would rely on the development of the SafeUs project that is based on the disastrous scenario that many teenagers and adults often experience, cyberbullying destroys many homes and lives. In a text written by Ericka browns about cyber bullying (she watches NASA's support and project) she says that teenagers and adults are suffering more and more from this cause. Seeing this scenario after a lot of research, our team noticed the pain of people and their families, we noticed that the issue of cyber bullying is unfortunately rarely talked about on social networks and never published on TV, there are forums, however little known, which makes it difficult people find a place to have support. So we’re going to create an innovative, different website, where the victim will feel safe, can talk to psychologists, can have a voice in the midst of so much inequality. The material on our website was based on information we talked to delegates. Our project besides being a support, we gather the pains of our customers and try to put it in a place where our customer feels safe, that's why the name SafeUs.

How We Developed This Project

Our group talked about the chosen challenge, and we chose to talk about cyberbullying. From this we started to research about, in order to search for information from reliable sources, to obtain relevant data, explanations and analyzes on which we could be based to better understand about cyberbullying. As soon as we gathered the information, we talked about what could be done and then decided that the Apollo project and also the SafeUs website would be developed.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We did arduous research on the concept of cyberbullying, we were successful in finding relevant information on nasa's website and in articles made available by it.
