Summary
People today have many problems with equality. People are used to the fact that other people react to them strangely: point fingers, insult, harm, discriminate at work and in public places. Why, you ask? Is it because they are slightly different from others? Is this what people are supposed to do?Our team says NO. We want to show that people are not born, but become!Different nationalities, different religions, different preferences, different ages, different possibilities. But we are all human!We have collected real stories of victims of discrimination, collected facts and information from NASA and created a single site. We want to tell the whole world that everyone must be respected.
How We Addressed This Challenge
We developed the webpage that stands for the platform with accessible information on discrimination and which can destroy stereotypes that make most of people to suffer from them. Information plays a significant role these days. It takes a lot of time to find it. Our site has already collected all the information necessary for the user. If everyone knew all this, would the world change? We want to check it out!It describes to those who discriminate others to change their opinion and become more tolerant to others. Our slogan is " DO NOT BE PROUD THAT YOU WERE BORN A HUMAN.BE PROUD THAT YOU BECOME A HUMAN." That means that to become and to be able to name yourself as Human, you need to work on yourself and respect others, without violence. We hope, we will help at least one people to change his/her mind and share this idea of being tolerant with society.
How We Developed This Project
Since all members of our team face some form of discrimination in our lives, we started to think about this topic, especially about the causes of discrimination and how to stop it. We decided to choose this topic of our project because we believe that it makes no sense to stand still and suffer from discrimination, but to start doing something to help other people, because this will be much more useful for the whole world! We only want everyone to feel comfortable, regardless of the different characteristics they were born with. As Mahatma Gandhi said: "If you want the world to change in the future, become that change in the present."We decided that we would elect to our team those who want to tackle the problem of discrimination, and let them choose what they want to work on: design, website creation, information retrieval, etc. We chose the Tilda platform to create our project, for the design we used the resources of the Internet to achieve a nice picture. We really believe that this hackathon allowed each of us to try something new and to understand the topic of tolerance much deeper. Each of us has improved our teamwork skills.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We included data from NASA in the categories of racism and gender inequality. This data helped us a lot in filling out our topics. We are happy to use this information as it is really reliable and useful.
