Summary

I would like to address the problem of inequality and how vast it is. As we all have know the cases of George Flyod, Jacob Blake in USA and seeing the molestation of girl's case in India where it was highlighted that she belonged to a lower caste community and such incident increasing day on day with USA and India having 127k and 30k cases of molestation and sexual assault in respective countries, SO we made a Watch that is cost effective and can alert authorities via a connected phone and we believe any device which gives safety and peace of mind to non privileged section of society can help to bridge the gap of this inequality as it will prevent exploitation which is happening now.

How We Addressed This Challenge

we developed a cost effective solution in form of an IOT based watch that will alert authorities. Its important in the sense as we all have a phone nowadays and mostly wear a watch to see time which can be replaced easily with another watch that will save life. It communicates via Bluetooth and when user triggers alert via a button, it will send alert to regarding authorities or family members so help can be availed in time . We want to achieve better security and aid in saving lives of these underprivileged section of society to reduce inequality by giving them security.

How We Developed This Project

We face challenges of inequality and bias on various grounds where we are not given adequate opportunities so we decided to pick this challenge ,we thought as watch is a commodity worn by many so why not to integrate some solution in it that saves their lives, gives more freedom

We required the knowledge ofC language, Arduinos studio, Computer Aided Design application to create a 3d model, we used Arduino Nano,SIM900 Modem,NEO6M GPS module,433 MHZ RF Transmitter and Receiver, Buttons, Battery, Bread board, Jumpersin hardware segment.

We faced challenges to assemble and help each other being socially distanced, all instructions were delivered via Video calls, Bluetooth module has its own issues, so we had to sort out that too. We achieved that at the end of the day everything was working as expected and even being socially distanced we it through

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We knew about the roots of inequality among various section of society and came across Nasa's history of how miss Harlem princess and Nixon presidency made significant changed that allowed the women and black people to be in senior and middle level in management. We understood the various challenges faced by various Nasa astronauts in achieving their respective positions

We learned regarding many evils in society as a whole like racism, inequality and how it affects us all, work culture and how it makes our under privileged community vulnerable, even though they pretend they are okay. WE used all these information and devise a device in form of a cost effective iot based watch that works at individual level as we Believe its a case to Case basis and different people suffer different forms of exploitation.
