Natural disasters almost always bring down our communications. For this reason, people in rural areas do not get sufficient real time information when necessary. If we want to save lives, we need real time information about what’s coming.

A natural disaster ruptures all infrastructure based communication. However, radio communication is still functional. This is where we want to contribute.

Our goal is to save people's lives from natural disasters. People in rural areas don't get proper information due to a lack of real time communication infrastructure.

• We developed a low cost data receiver to collect data from NASA's Earth observing satellites and repeat broadcast it by FM radio frequency band (88 - 108 MHz), covering up to 30 km.

• Our device is compact and has a built in Weather Monitoring System, and also a backup solar power source

• The cost of our device will be $100 to $150

We are also developing a mobile app which will help people get real-time information.

Our Mobile App Features:

• Our app will automatically detect nearby SOS COM (88 - 108 MHz) device stations.

• After receiving information, our app will send notifications.

• Users can find their local weather conditions and get extreme weather alerts.

"We believe our project can save the lives of 2 billion disaster prone localities people and their assets in affected areas all over the world."
