Spot That Fire V3.0

Recent wildfires worldwide have demonstrated the importance of rapid wildfire detection, mitigation, and community impact assessment analysis. Your challenge is to develop and/or augment an existing application to detect, predict, and assess the economic impacts from actual or potential wildfires by leveraging high-frequency data from a new generation of geostationary satellites, data from polar-orbiting environmental satellites, and other open-source datasets.

Forest Fire Detection by Multimedia WSN with IOT and ML

Summary

In India, forest fires are a regular phenomenon during fire season. Using MODIS, 37,059 fires were detected using this sensor data. Our solution is based on WMSN which includes sensors, cameras and microphones. With the help of this, temperature, humidity, fire, gas and pressure sensors, we monitor the environment. This setup is kept within trees on a particular range. The data taken by these are sent to gateway with the help of GSM - IOT since it is used to transmit the data. Simultaneously, weather conditions will be predicted with the help of machine learning. These all data are sent to the control system. If fire detects, the location will be tracked by RFID and people alert by APP.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The aim of the proposed solution is to detect the forest fire at the early stage. The forest fire is a great threat to wildlife habitats. It causes the loss of livelihood, destroying homes, lowering air quality by enhancing the green house gases. This solution will detect, analyze and transmit the data effectively. It detects the temperature, humidity and track the location of fire disaster. With the help of analyzed data, we monitor the environment. Incase of fire detection, it alarms the surrounding people, nearby fire station and guide the people with safe and self- supporting advice. Our plan is to overcome above impacts effectively at the earliest.

How We Developed This Project

The nature suffers a lot from wildfire and the consequences are highly dangerous. Thus our team chose this challenge. Our approach is to find the technical solution for the above problem by using. The complication involved in this problem were battery maintenance and network coverage and the solution overcame this problem.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The dataset used in this solution is from NASA. Since weather prediction is a part of our solution, the data set is trained using machine learning.
