Spot That Fire V3.0

Recent wildfires worldwide have demonstrated the importance of rapid wildfire detection, mitigation, and community impact assessment analysis. Your challenge is to develop and/or augment an existing application to detect, predict, and assess the economic impacts from actual or potential wildfires by leveraging high-frequency data from a new generation of geostationary satellites, data from polar-orbiting environmental satellites, and other open-source datasets.

Summary

Using new and old data to change the perspective of how we look at wildfires. By assimilating that type of information, the probability of predicting the next wildfire would skyrocket exponentially. That would, in itself, be a great financial relief due to the fact that there wouldn't be a need to take care of the chaotic situation.

How We Addressed This Challenge

"History is something that it repeats itself." - this is the moto that motivated us to work on our problem. A big part of the fires are repeating every year and people know about them but still can't prepare enough for them. We wanted to change how the "guessing game" works and which part of the data is used to prepare the information and show it in an easier way for people.
