Spot That Fire V3.0

Recent wildfires worldwide have demonstrated the importance of rapid wildfire detection, mitigation, and community impact assessment analysis. Your challenge is to develop and/or augment an existing application to detect, predict, and assess the economic impacts from actual or potential wildfires by leveraging high-frequency data from a new generation of geostationary satellites, data from polar-orbiting environmental satellites, and other open-source datasets.

Sparkless. Great solutions drop no sparks

Summary

Collect environmental data from space monitoring organizations of areas where fires occurred, them correlate these data with economic data from the location of the fires in the livestock and logging sectors and see if there is growth in these sectors in order to identify the culprits for the burned. And also to propose a form of awareness to also prevent fires.

How We Addressed This Challenge

In the link above it is possible to see a mind map that brings the best way to analyze the whole context that involves the fires, on one side, the green topics show solutions for before the fires occur and on the left side, in red, the topics show the solutions if the fires have already occurred, in this way, it is possible to analyze with greater precision the real causes of the fires, relating them to the local economy. Due to the fact that, data collection will be carried out by research and monitoring entity such as IBGE and NASA organizatios as so as the earth observatory.

How We Developed This Project

From the moment we saw the topic of fires we knew that this was a trending topic all over the world, so we started to develop about it and do informative research, we found ways to capture the data and ways to relate it to other data, with the help of a code to capture data from the public pages of institutes and space agencies, and then we compare these data with job growth in the livestock, wood and other sectors that need open fields a year or two later.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

it is possible to use data from NASA Earth Observatory and use an API (Application Programming Interface) to choose the sectors for monitoring fires and deforestation and then write a correlation to the employment and economy data in the region.

Project Demo

The solution is to correlate the data collected through space monitoring agencies with the region's economy and employment data in the area of livestock and timber. in addition to obviously looking for ways to raise awareness of the population to prevent fires from happening so that you don't have to look for ways to remedy it.
