Summary

The journey to Mars is not just a science fiction film, now we have already taken many steps toward this goal and NASA is working on solving the challenges that Stand in the way of achieving this mission. In fact, people do not know about these challenges so our solution is to create an interactive, educative mobile application which will present the methods of communication and the communication challenges in a simple way using visualisation, clear language, interactive competitions, quizzes and mini-games. The app will provide the user with all the resources that he will need

How We Addressed This Challenge

we developed a mobile application which will illustrate and present the Mars communication challenges with a simple, interactive and educative way


it is important to let more people know about the humanity mission to mars challenges so they can change their interests when they can understand these complex topics in a simple way,and these people can later have their obvious change


the way the app will work:it contains massive data that will be updated regularly according to NASA's new discoveries and announcing notifications concerning special events related to the space in general and Mars in specific. It is designed to guarantee perfect education, interest and interactivity.

First, He will experience 1 of Mars-Earth communication challenges to make him curious about the causes and interested to know more and before he would access the data there would be a test determining his level. There would be also some recommendations for videos or peer to peer discussions with one of the volunteers. Besides There will be a mini game at the end where the user can apply what he learnt from the app like trying to draw a line of sight communication and choose the most suitable satellite.


we hope to make people more interested in this topic and to understand more about it because our journey to Mars will be a historical event to the humanity which every person should participate in with a way or another


How We Developed This Project

we was inspired by the news we get in NASA website about Mars mission and its complex problem and we find it very interesting to be understood even if it is difficult then we have been influenced again by NASA space apps title this year ( journey to Mars )


our approach is to present the problem of Mars communication in a simple, interactive and educative way


we used kotlin for coding the application which is a modern statically typed programming language; Which can design and develop the apps easier and faster, and for the design of the interface we considered the user experience to design a simple and convenient application with Photoshop


At the beginning, we faced some problems in gathering the right data and simplify it. But we overcame that challenge by dividing that into small missions and distributing them between us. Then, we faced some technical issues while coding the mobile application but we saw tutorials and asked some mentors to help us and that helped us understand more and perform better in research and coding until we gained our outcome that we are proud of although it is not completed yet with all the features we want but we are working on it


How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

as our application's database in mainly research we used these websites to collect our data and understand the Mars communication challenges and how they are trying to solve these problems
