Global Nominee

Data Discovery for Earth Science

Websites like the NASA Earth Observatory showcase the many uses of satellite data to highlight interesting natural events. International partner instruments on NASA satellites such as Japan’s ASTER instrument and Canada’s MOPITT instrument, both onboard the Terra satellite, are also included as part of the Observatory. This challenge will ask you to devise a tool or technique to guide users to relevant datasets to study specific events.

TehnoIuHas Search tool

Summary

During this hackathon, team TehnoIuHas has been working on developing a tool forsearching through NASA’s datasets. Our solution, that come to help people seeking informationthrough NASA’s Earth Observatory, is a user-friendly website that provides information to usersaccording to their need, in other words, the keywords they introduce in the search bar. We havedeveloped our website with the following options: 1a user-friendly interface and comfortable in use; 2provide the images for the information you want to find out about that redirect you to the3necessary pages when you click on them; 4it is available for any geographical area; it sends you an email with the links you are lookin

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our team developed a user-friendly website that provides information to users according to their needs. It is iportant because it helps people seeking information through NASA's database. Basically it uses all NASA's dataset and provides the most relevant information for you in some links using a search engine. Our goal is to reduce the amount of time needed to search information from NASA's database.

How We Developed This Project

Our team was inspired to choose this challenge because we all wanted to make users life easier in the research time. We used html, css and javascript for making a search website. Some of the problems that we had were finding all the data needed for making the search tool and also to gather the search engine and the website.
