Orbital Sky

A huge number of satellites in Earth's orbit support our day-to-day life on the ground. Your challenge is to develop a method to improve public knowledge of these satellites, with an eye towards driving user engagement, enthusiasm, and exploration.

B-KOD Application

Summary

People get closer to the sky day by day. At this point we planned to create a game which boosts this process. Our game won't be a boring one. At the same time it will be much more informative than any other interactive products about satellites because it uses real data. Due to this reason, we are aiming to reach 12-35 age period especially. User will proceed through levels by answering questions truly, designing the best satellite and placing to correct orbit. We are planning to launch our game on VR devices and 3D printers too. We hope many people will play this game so; This game will be one of the pioneers at satellite development. We believe our project, we will make everyone touch sky!

How We Addressed This Challenge

Time is changing, we are changing. The space age has begun. Unfortunately, people are not that interested in space. They think space is complicated and scary. And it's only for scientists and engineers. That’s not right! Everyone can/should understand and study space. So let’s change this huge misconception. Let’s learn while playing. People can learn about space and satellites while playing games. They can have fun, they can challenge others and they can compete with theirselves and most important thing, they can learn from the game. Our mission is encouraging public to search and learn more about satellites.

How We Developed This Project

In line with our purpose, we have designed an application that allows people to connect with satellites more easily and obtain information about them and have fun while doing these. We adapted real life information and data into our game. Also, our project is available for any further developments. For example, we can adapt our project to virtual reality.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We have been influeced from NASA's "Space Debris" article. While we were reading it, we realized that even there are a lot of satellites enough to cause space junk, most of the people don't know anything about satellites. We decided to design a game to teach people about satellites and make them have fun while learning.
