Orbital Sky

A huge number of satellites in Earth's orbit support our day-to-day life on the ground. Your challenge is to develop a method to improve public knowledge of these satellites, with an eye towards driving user engagement, enthusiasm, and exploration.

Orbiting us

Summary

Since we are in kindergarten, our teachers teach us through games to educate young people in an easy to digest way. And why stop doing it? We designed a game to facilitate information such as the missions of the satellites in orbit, in this way a person interested in the subject can learn about the functions of satellites in space while playing.

How We Addressed This Challenge

A game was developed which consists of a ship which travels the Earth's orbit, this when making a satellite shows you the basic information of the satellite itself. Also to make the game more entertaining you have to destroy asteroids to save the satellites while you travel the Earth's orbit.

How We Developed This Project

Many people think that satellites are only for communications, when in reality they are in charge of endless tasks, so we decided to take the challenge and find a practical way to learn from satellites, for this similar satellites were designed with 3D design software and a game was programmed in C #. The complexity of the satellites made their design a little difficult as well as the representation of the designs within the game, but it was possible to overcome and achieve the game.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The resources used were necessary to obtain data from the satellites in orbit such as: their names, description of the missions they carry out, images of the satellites, among other things.
