Your challenge is to create a visual representation of the breadth of the space sector’s influence, showing the network of organizations and locations associated with the work of space exploration.

Summary

For centuries the vast void that mankind has seen when he looks up and looks up has always been a source of wonder. Many people have devoted themselves to unraveling the secret of space, revealed what they have in this way, and devoted their lives to this path. Technology has advanced from the past to the present, and space studies have also accelerated. New information was learned and this learned information not only accelerated space studies, but also contributed to the development of their societies. In the project, we aimed to show the locations of the institutions engaged in space studies that contribute to the development of societies in the form of maps on a website we have prepared.

How We Addressed This Challenge

In the project, we first got a gmail account on behalf of our team name. Afterwards, we created a wordpress account with this account and started to prepare our site. In our own country (Turkey), there are some places observatory and science center. We also showed these places on the map on the website. By switching from the link on the home page of the site to the google maps section, we have included the locations of major institutions in the world. In this way, we have included data that can be informed about space studies on our website, and we have shown the locations of these institutions visually.

How We Developed This Project

We wanted to design a website that anyone who wants to learn about space studies can easily access. We designed a site on wordpress.com so that all people who want to go to these places and want to be informed can easily log in. We used google maps to make use of maps visually. Actually, our aim is to improve this site further. One of our goals is to mark these places on the map where the user goes and give points to that place. The more places the user travels, the more points will be collected. As the user states how many places they go on the site, they will receive different nicknames and points, so they will want to use the site more. Thus, the interest in the places where more space studies are carried out will increase, albeit partially. Our site is in Turkish. English language will also be added later. For now, thanks to google translation, you can examine it in English. We also used discord and zoom applications while talking and planning as a team.
