Space Exploration in Your Backyard

The work of space exploration (and the societal benefits it brings) permeates every location and facet of society. Your challenge is to create a visual representation of the breadth of the space sector’s influence, showing the network of organizations and locations associated with the work of space exploration.

Summary

The general idea of our project is to create a data aggregator. You can incorporate different sources like NASA open data or other space agencies on and not limit to that. You can also include social media and other websites from other space organizations. From that we can summarize all the information in a single place, providing you a way to explore this information and provide a useful search of new new data.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The idea is that usually when you start searching for something you have two paths to follow, one You start searching one topic on you lose interest in two or three clicks and you stop searching about it and you lost interest in the space. On the other way is when you start searching something on you enter in a rabbit hole where you forgot what you started to searching. So the focus of this project is to centralize everything in a single page that help you to found information that is useful for you and also share this information with other persons.

How We Developed This Project

We create a mock up of our application that basically allows us to see what are the different possibilities that we want to provide. So we have ah template to start developing our application, the website and our api. We think that there is a loss chain in all the searching or researching stuff, and the ideas is to provide a tool that helps everybody. It is an aggregator that allow us to allocate or congregate information for different projects in one single place. We want to create a community to helps reach more people that space stuff.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We did not use NASA data in your project directly. Our idea is to create an interface that allows us to consume this open data that the differens agencys provide. We used NASA Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Database

This database catalogs all NASA small business contracts and abstracts for the work being performed to have an idea off what kind of information regarding external project that we can incorporate in our application.
