Alpha has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
We developed a web app which can be used to teach people about different propulsion systems and theories of future possibilities with different types of the systems. The web app showcases information of 6 different types of propulsion systems with pictures and diagrams so people can visually understand how these systems work.
Our team decided that we wanted to do this challenge because we all love coding and we want experience in making interactive websites and games. At first we decided that we may make a rocket picture where you can hover over parts and it will tell you info about those parts. We decided against it because we wanted to focus on propulsion systems and with that kind of model it would not be possible to talk as in depth about future propulsion systems as we do in our web app. We used java script in code.org to develop a good user interface. At first we attempted to create an app that did not accurately respond to the challenge. To get around this issue, we restarted and created a new app which was able to better fit the criteria of the challenge. Our achievement was that this was our first finished project as a team and gave us well needed experience.
We utilized NASA's websites to gain reliable and accurate information for the app, especially considering that the app is purely educational it is vital to ensure it isn't providing false information.
