Breakthrough

Faster-than-light travel is the key to humanity’s dreams of inter-galactic space travel. Your challenge is to create an app, tool, game, or other interactive application that showcases both existing, as well as next generation/theoretical, breakthrough spacecraft propulsion in an engaging way.

Breakthrough Propulsion Website

Summary

This website is about Breakthrough Propulsion. The website content is mainly divided into 3 parts: one mini trivia game about spacecraft propulsion and two parts of documentations, Different Types of Propulsion, and Enhanced Questions. We have also used some data from space agencies and added some photos and videos to the web pages. We have already finished our project with different points of view of propulsion. In addition, we built a webpage on our own and create an interesting game for all of you, hope you enjoy it!

How We Addressed This Challenge

First, we think about what is the meaning of our topic (breakthrough). Moreover, we develop a website for our project and it is very important as we need to conclude all our knowledge and the information we have methodically. What we want to achieve is hope all of us(including you---judges)can read our project or achievement easily and happily.

How We Developed This Project

All members of our team are enjoyed in the new things in the universe or some breakthrough, which is similar and same as the topic. So we choose this interesting topic. We have done some information researching on the internet first. After that, we use our knowledge and those information to build a website so as to finish this project in a better way. We use the code languages of Html, Css, JavaScript, jQuery...etc. Furthermore, we have used InfinityFree this kind of domain creating tools to build our website. During our project time, we have met some problems. For instance, we have learnt some coding skills before and we don't understand some of the information. However, we didn't afraid of those problems. We have tried to solve by ourselves and we may ask our classmates too in order to complete this project perfectly.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used the space agency data in our project as some referencing data mostly. Also, we used some images inside the space agency websites, for example, we used some photos from NASA in the 'Enhanced Questions-2:Different propulsion systems' web page. We also used a video from NASA in the 'Enhanced Questions-5:Different propulsion systems' website. During the time of finding data from the space agency websites, all our teammates have learnt a lot about spacecraft propulsion from the web pages.

Project Demo

We divided the data about Spacecraft Propulsion into 3 main parts, and they are the definition of Spacecraft Propulsion, Different Types of Propulsion, and Enhanced Questions.

This is an example page of our website that talks about warp drive. We have highlighted some key points into white, so that it will be easier to read. Unfortunately, we cannot highlight the key words in the 'Enhanced Questions' part because of time shortage, sorry for the imperfect points. We also tried to insert some photos into the web pages so they will be more interesting. The places where the photos come from have been mentioned under the photographs, thanks for your attention.

Also, we have made a little Spacecraft Propulsion Trivia Game which the questions are created by ourselves. There are some Multiple Choice Questions, Fill in the Blanks Questions, Questions requiring short answers and more. We have also added some copyright-free music to make the game more fun.

This is the last web page, including an animation that congratulate you finished the game and reading the documents. The animation will become faster as you answer more questions correctly in the last trivia game. The is the end of our demonstration, thanks for your time!
