Faster-than-light travel is the key to humanity’s dreams of inter-galactic space travel. Your challenge is to create an app, tool, game, or other interactive application that showcases both existing, as well as next generation/theoretical, breakthrough spacecraft propulsion in an engaging way.

Summary

Beyond: Universe's Eyes, an app that includes the dream of humanity to have a voyage of the Universe provides a virtual tour to the dream. The Warp drive as a space ship can make travel with speed greater than the speed of light. This app allows the user to visit the planets, dwarfs, stars, and galaxies as their wish. Special features in the app can allow the user to have a realistic visit to the Moon and Mars. The views of the Moon and Mars can provide an interesting interface to the users. Arrow keys can let the viewers enjoy the rotation of the heavenly bodies and movement on the Moon and Mars to visit around the planet. Therefore, the app gives a concept to humanity's dream completion.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Beyond: Universe's Eyes, a project to shove the generation to the fore in astronomical field. This project is designed to give the world a virtual experience to the Universe. This is a project that galvanize the youths to move ahead and make a tremendous advancement in astronomy.

What did we Develop?

Faster-than-light travel is the key to humanity’s dreams of inter-galactic space travel. We developed or designed a concept or project that can bring this ambition to existence. The app designed by us gives a virtual experience to visit of our home galaxy, Milky way and our nearest galaxy, Andromeda. The concept to bring the virtual experience to real is elucidated in the respective app and the attached explanation video. The corresponding concept can be put in to actual and further study about the Universe can be pursued.

Why is it important?

Education is a never ending process and doesn't stop once we graduate. Until we still can breathe, we never stop learning. This concept can let the world perceive the knowledge beyond the Universe. Nobody knows what is beyond our home Galaxy. All the concepts we study till now are just the hypothesis of different renowned scientists. Getting known to the mystery out of Milky Way galaxy can be a boon to the whole world. The successful search on this field can light a candle to future generation's Astronomy. Getting known to this mystery may give solutions to many problems Earth is facing at present situation. A voyage to Universe can boost the progress in Astronomical field. Therefore, getting Beyond: Universe's Eyes can be a asset to this global world.

What does it do?

Beyond: Universe's Eyes, is an app that allows a user to have a virtual voyage to the two of the galaxies of the universe. It is just a tryout for two of the galaxies: Milky Way and Andromeda. The app can be modified and made more advanced after the visit to the universe in actual. The app first displays a rocket launched from the Earth to the space. The rocket can move to the respective planets or may proceed to the next galaxy, as per the user's choice. This can give a virtual tour to the universe. The concept of the rocket can be used and we can have the similar experience in the actual world. Therefore, this app provides a virtual experience of a voyage to the Universe.

How does it work?

A proper interaction between the app and the user is very integral to make an app successful. This app do have a better interacting environment. It provides easier, attractive and realistic environment to the user. This app first asks a user to launch a rocket, displaying the earth views. After the launch key gets pressed, the rocket gets launched. A virtual launching of the rocket is displayed in the screen. After the launching gets over, and all things come to normal position, the respective user can make a tour to the galaxy. As per the user's wish, rocket can be sent and landed to the desired planet. A small view of the respective planet can be viewed.

Similarly, the rocket can also be taken to the next galaxy, following the instructions given in the app. Thus, a virtual voyage of next galaxy can also be enjoyed by the user. Therefore, this is a app, that provides a user an environment to have exciting, realistic and virtual journey to the Universe i.e. beyond: Universe's eyes.

What do we hope to achieve?

Success is a goal of every hard work. The app would succeed if the concept could be brought into the practice. The concept of using Warp Drive in the rocket, have the chances of achieving the goal of the challenge. Getting a man made device to move with the speed of light is a key to humanity's dream of inter-galactic space travel. The app is a virtual output of the future, after implementation of the concept to the actual world. We entire team hope for success of the project and wish a tremendous progress in the field of Astronomy by NASA and many other organizations.

Therefore, Beyond: Universe's Eyes is an app that displays a virtual future, if the concept in the app is brought to practice. We shall keep trying. Trying brings new inventions. The trial of this project may not give a perfect output but will surely help to move at least one step ahead in the field of astronomy.

How We Developed This Project

Developing app Beyond: Universe's Eyes was a wonderful experience of our team. This app has a concept that can be brought to practice in real and can complete the goal of the challenge break through.

What inspired our team to choose this challenge?

Going through all the challenges made us excited to try all the challenges. But looking after the limitations and the time we had to make a decision that would be beneficial both for our group and NASA Space App challenge organizing committee. Looking after all the aspects, we first separated the topics into different sections and chose the most exciting one. It was really a tough task to decide a topic for us. After going through all the topics, we found this topic interesting and some how unique. This topic dals with a wonderful challenge, that is a dream of humanity. We thought to work on this project and try finding out a way to achieve the goal of the challenge. This could be a great success to whole world. Thus, looking after all the aspects and with the satisfaction off all our team members we finally decided to put our hands together for this project and make it a success.

What was your approach to developing this project?

All the hard work are started with a aim of achievement of certain goals. Choosing this challenge had many reasons and thoughts in our brain. If the goal of challenge would be achieved, a lot of dreams of the world would get fulfilled. A lot of solutions would come out of many problems. A list of new facts about the Universe would come out. A lot of mysterious questions in our mind would get cleared and explained. Travelling faster than the speed of light would take us to many places of the Universe. These were the approaches for developing this project.

What tools, coding languages, hardware, software did we use to develop your project? 

We used great tools like Unity 3d , Trello and Zoom For Creating and collaboration. We used great fast and efficient programming language 'C#' for this project. These tools were easy to use and indeed, powerful without these tools it would be very hard for us to complete project.

What problems and achievements did your team have?

We had to face many problems during the development of the project. Some of them were of course, bugs which we gradually fixed but our main problem was build error. While building our project we got build errors which was hard to fix because machine where to project was building was slow. In spite of all these problems, we didn't give up. Instead took it as a next challenge and kept on fighting against it being together and finally became successful to develop a wonderful app to give virtual experience of the Universe.

Therefore, the challenge Breakthrough encouraged us to come up with the concept to reach out of our galaxy. The challenge made us to get our analyzing skills enhanced. This challenge made us learn about different difficulties while having a project prepared. Finally, the challenge gave us the success to development of a wonderful app to give a virtual experience.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Our team has prepared an app named Beyond: Universe's Eyes. This app uses the data from NASA. The data from NASA really helped a lot in the preparation phase of the app. The textures of the planets and other heavenly bodies was a wonderful help we got from NASA's data. Similarly the concept and data of Lunar landing is also kept in our app. These are the space agency data we used in our app, and it is used in a very informative and attractive way in our app.

Using this texts, we would like to thank NASA to provide us authority to use the space agency data that added smartness to our project.
