We developed a game. It is important because the future is space and we need to teach kids space at a young age. It gives missions to the players which include knowledge, teamwork and problem solving skills. We want everyone to use their creativity to solve these unpredictable, life changing, futuristic problems. We hope to inform people of all ages about space missions and how to solve them by using simple methods in physics, mechanics, science and mathematics with our game.
We wanted to incorporate our knowledge and creativity skills, that’s why we chose this challenge. We inspired from the movies that we watched such as Interstellar, Wall-e and The Martian. Each of our team members have different talents and abilities which helped us decide the challenge. In the challenge we chose, Breakthrough, intergalactic leap and intergalactic travel were seriously important and we could express it in the most understandable way: with a game. The most challenging thing about the challenge Breakthrough was us being apart because of the virus. We tried to be in constant connection which was difficult because we were in different places.
We used NASA data for the missions in our game. The data had a huge impact on our game development. The questions that we will ask in the game is provided by the NASA data, the information we need to create the intergalactic leap is provided by the NASA data and finally the information about fuels we use to reach the speed of light is provided by the NASA data.
