Challenge Accepted| Create a Mascot

Create a Mascot

The world is full of scientific information that can help us make informed decisions and take action. However, that information is not always accessible to young learners. Your challenge is to create a mascot that can help make learning about Earth and space science more fun and welcoming for younger audiences.

Break the digital divide and give a proper education for students about the Earth and space science.

Summary

Space agencies are big institutions which collects many of data every time, about the everything. Some of those agencies are NASA, JAXA, CSA, etc. But they detected one big problem and that is the inaccessibility of many of people on those information. Some major factors are, digital divide, unlikeness to borrow that information, and etc. To destroy those problems we can apply these steps. Giving a proper knowledge on ICT, the Earth and space science for both students and elder people, providing the necessary accesses by connecting with the governments of digital divide prone areas, editing the web pages looks fun. So we’ll be obtain a clear development of the world and the astronomy sector.

How I Addressed This Challenge

This project is for the challenge creating a mascot. In this challenge it mainly focused on the attraction of the younger audiences to learn about the Earth and the space science. So I too mainly focused on that. But I found a big problem. That is the digital divide. Digital divide is a term that refers to the gap between demographics and the regions that have information and communicational technology, and those they don't or have restricted access. This problem is mainly located around the less developed countries. If we need to attract the young audiences to learn about the Earth and the space science, we should bridge the digital divide. And also I have focused on some another factors that give help to attract the youngers and some of them are,

  • Providing a proper education on ICT for students.
  • Proving accesses for the people who don't have accesses properly.
How I Developed This Project

Actually I have never been in a challenge of creating a mascot. As being I only the participant of the team Challenge Accepted, I inspired and interested about this creating a mascot. So I choose this challenge. And my approach to developing this project is, developing the technological sector among the whole world by bridging the digital divide, attracting the people; specially the younger audiences to learn about the Earth and the space science, to make a inter-connection between the space and the Earth live through online, and many more things. In the case of developing my project I mainly used the softwares like microsoft word, microsoft power point, copy paste software, and some web browsers like Google chrome, microsoft edge. There were some problems when I making my project; but I overcame them successfully. When I talk about the achievements gained by me, the best one is participating in a global hackathon as a school child. I consider this research and project done by me is also a big achievement.

How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

I used and borrowed many of space agency data from the official web pages of the JAXA, CSA, CNES, NASA, ESA and some more, to edit my project better. I got many of ideas from those web sites to enter to my project.
