Create a Mascot

The world is full of scientific information that can help us make informed decisions and take action. However, that information is not always accessible to young learners. Your challenge is to create a mascot that can help make learning about Earth and space science more fun and welcoming for younger audiences.

Summary

We wanted a space related icon which is already familiar to younger generation. Hence we worked with a classic: UFOs .Having a game-like structure would also help people to engage with our mascot, that's why we came up with stamps, obtainable after attending space research centers' events online. Also we thought up future usages such as serving as an 3D simulation interface, a toy, even a night lamp for our mascot. As a team we used most of our time and effort to prepare a Power Point presentation.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed a mascot, it is important because it encourages younger generations to discover about science, it works as a simulation interface. We want to reach all people and our goal is to inspire every one of them to create, to make inventions and to discover.

How We Developed This Project

This challenge was one of the avaible ones to do without any technical skills. We have used basic programs like Paint 3D, Microsoft Power Point and Google Images.Making a contribution to ongoing Information Age was what captivated us to do this challenge. During the project there were some technical inconveniences therefore sometimes we had to do some parts by hand yet this was both compelling and worthwhile.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We got inspired from NASA's gallery. We used Earth photographs for reference and checked NASA's files and reached real Earth photos to create Lightey.
