Summary
Creation of a mascot, which using the application will be able to communicate with children (10-12 years old) and explain to them simple information about space. We also include different ways to attract children (for example, games with ratings, prize system).
How We Addressed This Challenge
We have created a mascot, the appearance of which can be changed in a future application on the phone. Now, for the convenience of users, we have created a chatbot in which you can already see our mascot. The chatbot is already programmed to provide information about the planets and constellations. Also, there are already small tests. In the future, we want to add there a rating system for users with a prize in the form of stickers that we have already created.
How We Developed This Project
As soon as we found out about this category of competition, we decided to create a character who would become a real friend-guide to the world of astronomy. When we were looking for analogues of our idea, we did not find anything suitable specifically for the category of children (6-12 years old).
There were also a lot of difficulties in creating the mascot. But we conducted a small interview among children and chose the most optimal version of the character's appearance. But the most interesting decision that we made was that the appearance of our character can be changed to suit the tastes of the user in the future mobile application. So this mascot design will only be the default.
We used Adobe Illustrator to create the mascot.
Adobe Photoshop was also used to create the application interface.
To create a chatbot, we used a chatbot constructor + Python.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
To find facts and data about planets and constellations, we used the available information from NASA.
