Firstly, we examined the NASA data and NASA images. Then we decided on about which topics we should prepare our messages. We all thought that it will be the best way to deliver our messages via our mascots to adults and children who are at the same age with us.
Our team designed eight mascots which have different duties for the Earth and space. Firstly, we made our drawings then transformed our drawings into 3d ones by using legos, colorful playdough and recycle materials like papers, plastic bottles. And also we decided which messages we can send to others. We wrote lyrics for our messages and composed them with fun. We used our mascots in different environments in order to send our messages.
These are the members of our Mascot Family.
Mascot MySpace
This mascot was designed by Nimet Nazlı.
Firstly, I have imagined to design my mascot. Then I drew it. I have used colorful playdough, cardboards and wooden sticks to transform my drawing into 3d one.
Myspace will be a cartoon character and we will sing funny songs together. Myspace also wants to be a hero in a computer game. I have made a short cartoon by using scratch junior.
We want to deliver our messages to children and their parents together with MySpace!!! And we are going to say these…
I have also composed a song with MySpace. Here are the lyrics of my song.
MY SPACE SONG
Hello, hello I like Earth.
My favorite planet is Earth.
There is no air in the space.
So, there is no life in the space.
Let’s save our planet.
There is no pollution on the Earth.
Go go pollution
I love Earth.
I love my unique Earth.
You can find the image of my mascot, my animation and my song below.
Mascot Rocket Wings
This mascot was designed by Açelya.
My project’s name is rocket wings. I was inspired by Elon Musk while designing my project. Because I love cosmos very much and I care about recycling. I made rocket wings from recyclable materials.
The goal of my project is to recycle the wasted materials in universe. While I move in universe, I get the oxygen that I need by recyling the carbon dioxide. The fuel that my rocket wing use, is obtained by wasted materials.
My Message to you: “save the world save the cosmos by recyling wasted materials”
And here are the lyrics of my song.
Earth Earth Earth I like the Earth
Earth Earth Earth I save the Earth
Earth Earth Earth I see the Earth
Earth Earth Earth I love the Earth
You can find the image of my mascot and my song below.
Mascot Rocket Red
This mascot was designed by Nil.
Hello! My name is Nil. I am from Turkey. I am 7 years old. This is my mascot Rocket Red. I am very curious about the space.
I want to be the first child to go to space. I want to make a giant magnet and collect the metal trash in the space. I have also composed a song. Here are the lyrics of my song.
Let’s save our planet
Let’s save our Earth
If we stand together
Nothing can hurt.
You can find the image of my mascot and my song below.
Mascot Pi-Po
This mascot was designed by Ayda.
Hello, I'm Ayda. Meet my mascot "Pi-Po". Pi-Po and my goal is to clean up the space debris. This space junk needs to be cleaned up because it may damage rockets, astronauts and satellites in the space.
While designing the Pi-Po, I first drew its picture. Then I made Pi-Po with legos.
Pi-Po has ten robotic arms. There are hooks, harpoons, net and magnetic wheels on her arms. It will grab the space junk with these arms and take it to the space debris recycling station.
I will build a space debris recycling station in space. Here, I will recycle the space junk collected by Pi-Po and use it to build new rockets, satellites and robots. I will also dispose of other space junk.
I also want to send a message to the whole world and the universe by singing a song.
The lyrics of my song are as follows:
I love the people
I love the earth
I love the whole universe
I love MY LIFE…
Let’s save the EARTH, let’s save the UNIVERSE…
You can find the image of my mascot and my song below.
Mascots Miss Rio and Mr. Waterfall
These mascots were designed by Nehir.
Hello, my name is River. I want explain you about my mascot Project. It is Mr. Waterfall and Miss Rio clean Project.
I have a mask and I keep my social distance.
Protect our World and give us children a clean future.
I also give my messages to you with my song. You can listen to my song. And there are also short videos about my messages in the links. Here are the lyrics of my song.
Hello, Hola, Merhaba
Keep clean our planet
Rivers, lakes, jungles, forests, waterfalls
Grassland keep it, keep it all of them
Keep clean our planet
You can find the image of my mascot, my animation and my song here.
Mascots Carrot and Pink Water Green Soap
These mascots were designed by Yağmur.
My project is an equation with two unknowns. Because I love the science. When preparing this project I think about to examine two unknown that humans could not solve yet. First one is pandemics like covid and second one is unknows of the universe.
Examining the universe with sophisticated telescopes and viruses with microscopes will help to solve this two unknows.
We have to protect our unique planet by protecting our resources like water, natural life, jungle. We have to heal our world and save our resources to raise healthy generations.
Here is my song for our Earth.
I believe in us.
If humans believe they would do everything.
Covid-19 and Earth can be examined under the microscope.
I believe in us.
Little Stars can manage this.
Stars can be handled.
We can say hello to moon. Covid can be beaten.
I believe in us.
You can find the image of my mascot, my animation and my song here.
These mascots are very important designs because if they can be produced in real time, they can be very attractive materials for the children and their parents. The teachers and parents can use our mascots as educational materials. Cartoon makers, computer game developers can also use our mascots as main characters and heroes for their applications and animations.
We have already prepared the slogans that can be used in animations, applications and materials.
Let's not consume more water than we need!!
Let's reduce the use of plastic!!
Let's not use fossil fuels.
Let's drive electrical vehicles!!
Let’s use suitable containers for recycling!!
Let’s use sustainable products!!
Let's not consume more animal source foods to reduce global warming!!
Let's not waste food!!
Let's know the value of the land!!
Let's fight with desertification!!
Let's build compost facilities!!

Firstly, everyone inside the team chose a topic associated with NASA problems. We made our drawings then transformed our drawings into 3d ones by using lego, colorful playdough and recycle materials like papers, plastic bottles. We created our products. And we use them to make videos, cartoons, to compose songs and to send our messages to everyone.
Our STEM lessons at school, the images and the data of NASA, astronaut suits, rockets, sky, shooting stars, Elon Musk, our solar system, pandemics, distance learning, oceans, clouds, Moon, satellites and anything beautiful on our Earth and space inspired our team to choose this challenge.
We took care to use recycle materials and toys that we can find at home. Our approach to develop this project is using materials that can be recycled and found at home.
Firstly we examined NASA data. We decided that we should warn adults and raise the awareness of children who are at the same age with us. We published our messages by taking consideration NASA data.
As we are second year students at school, we were able to use only scratch junior. We are very eager to learn advanced coding.
We all wanted to design a different mascot. We gathered on the zoom platform to connect our mascots and create a fiction between the mascots. It was sometimes a bit difficult to make zoom meetings for us as we prefer to meet face to face. It was a problem for us.
We all prepared very beautiful messages to send to everyone. Each of us send our own messages via different ways like writing lyrics, composing songs, making cartoons, dancing.
It is a big achievement to join 2020 NASA International Space Apps Challenge, register to “Create a Mascot” challenge and put our products on the shelfs.
Firstly, we examined NASA data below. We decided that we should warn adults and raise the awareness of children who are at the same age with us. We published our messages by taking consideration NASA data.
