Create a Mascot

The world is full of scientific information that can help us make informed decisions and take action. However, that information is not always accessible to young learners. Your challenge is to create a mascot that can help make learning about Earth and space science more fun and welcoming for younger audiences.

Summary

Our mascot is a computer-generated fictional character. It is a female astronaut and her inspiring characteristics show the future missions to Mars. Our target is the young audience age between 19 - 25.The mascot sends details about future missions to Mars. The mascot represents gender equality and the current situation in the world. Our mascot is an inspiration to the young audience who likes and would like to involve in astronomy. This can be used as a logo for future missions where women are involved.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our mascot helps to teach young audience about future missions to Mars and it's important in a joyful and welcoming manner.

How We Developed This Project

Throughout the entire history, we only have seen male mascots even though there were many female astronauts participated in space missions. Hence, we wanted to design a female mascot to represent female participation in space missions. Our mascot is fashionable because our target audience is young. We used Adobe Photoshop to design our mascot.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

As former art students over 20 years old, we know the importance of creating work that catches the attention of everyone who passes by. They say that "first impressions are lasting impressions," and it is no different when it comes to the characters and mascots you design. Just like your wardrobe and anything else you can change aesthetically, careful adjustments can go a long way and make even the simplest designs look fabulous. Think of the concepts that digital artists work with before unveiling their final product, or the raw fabric that a clothing designer turns into a couture piece for the catwalk. Everything can look a little better if we add some life to it, and the same goes for your characters and illustrations. So today we could get some ideas in how to use different platforms and websites that use that data to add some life and some extra sparkle to our creations. To illustrate the ideas a little better, we've made some short scribbles for each tip to explain what we mean.
