Create a Mascot

The world is full of scientific information that can help us make informed decisions and take action. However, that information is not always accessible to young learners. Your challenge is to create a mascot that can help make learning about Earth and space science more fun and welcoming for younger audiences.

Luna, la mascota de la NASA

Summary

Luna is a pet for the NASA. With this, we can conect more with the people, and create a feel of unity. Also, we have a drive with all the images and the complete documents that we use for the proyects. Here´s a link to see all the proyect in a Drive´s binderhttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1VoAHJmIyTXci8hQsQS5BvY_jAvX3e-xE?usp=sharing

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed a mascot for NASA, her name is Luna.

Luna is a very happy, intelligent, bold, funny, determined dog and her passion is the stars and planets, she always strives to give her best, despite the fact that life hits her. Loves connecting with others and always learning something new.

1. She is part of NASA's space exploration program.

2. Loves looking at the night sky

3. He loves to study the stars and the stars

4. He loves to share his knowledge with others.

5. Seeks to address the audience, especially the youngest.

Luna is an adult Golden Retriever dog, she always wears her uniform. This is a spacesuit, which indicates that she is always ready for adventure.

It is important for NASA to have a pet because having one creates a sense of connection and belonging with others, as well as something that gives NASA a sense of identity.

Luna's goal is to inform others about space and NASA missions, in addition to giving small fun facts from time to time.

It seeks to educate the youngest, since they are the future of humanity, in addition to the fact that it is increasingly necessary to disseminate science in a correct way.

Luna will be NASA's mascot, so the main thing she will do is to get people interested in space, attend outreach events, target children, as well as promote products to give financial support to space activities.

An example of this would be an event dedicated to children. Here, Luna would give introductions to different topics, in a way that causes interest and attracts attention.

One way to make the mascot interactive would be to put Luna in ads and a YouTube channel, as well as on various social networks, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok.

How We Developed This Project

The idea for this project arose out of a lack of a sense of belonging and identification with NASA, and there was nothing better to play this role than a pet.

We were inspired by Laika, who was the first living being to go into space, so we kept the concept, a dog about 3 years old.

We use various tools, such as video editors, Photoshop, audio recorders, etc. thus achieving, with a variety of tools, a broad, concise and well done project.

We don´t have problems. The only detail was that anyone in the team knows programation, and graphic desing. For that, we have to learn.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We also use tools provided by NASA and some from the internet. We mainly use images to illustrate the videos, in addition to certain data such as measurements and testimonials.

Project Demo

We make the videos in spanish, but only enjoy.

The videos, instagram acount, and more, is in the Drive´s binder.
