The Little Planet (Bob "Planet" Orb)| Create a Mascot

Create a Mascot

The world is full of scientific information that can help us make informed decisions and take action. However, that information is not always accessible to young learners. Your challenge is to create a mascot that can help make learning about Earth and space science more fun and welcoming for younger audiences.

The Little Planet (Bob "Planet" Orb)

Summary

Countless times, scientific information has become inaccessible, especially for young people. As a way to solve this problem, we developed for the Challenge Create a Mascot, Bob "Planet" Orb, a mascot that transmits information about the Planets and Space in a very fun way.Bob takes the form of all the planets in our solar system according to his current mood, the distance between the planet and the sun, represents how angry or calm he is.For example: when Bob is very angry, he takes the form of Mercury; when it is very calm, it takes the form of Neptune and so on in the other nuances of feeling. The idea is to create a Comic and a Game, with creative stories.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed for the Challenge to Create a Mascot, Bob "Planet" Orb, a mascot that conveys information about the Planets and Space in a very fun way.

Bob takes the form of all the planets in our solar system according to his current mood, the distance between the planet and the sun, represents how angry or calm he is.

The idea is to create a Comic and a Game, with creative stories, to instigate / help mainly children and young people in the learning of Space subjects.

Comics will interact with the Game, making learning more accessible.

How We Developed This Project

We chose the 'Create a Mascot' Challenge, as we could see that scientific information is often difficult to accept, especially for the younger audience.

We had an approach closely linked with creativity and always inspired by the younger audience, so the use of many colors and different representations of feeling.

We used the 'Figma' application to create the prototype.

Where we had several problems with creativity and time, but that with the passing of the project we were solving and time, I think we managed.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We use images of the Planets as inspiration for their cartooning.

We also use images for the background, as a backdrop.

And the description of the information about each Planet:

All of this information gave us the possibility to create a project directly linked to the scientific information that must be transmitted daily to everyone.
