We have developed a design that can be used both as a connecting tool and as a living space. The solution we came up with for this problem is inspired by lego!

The protruding part on one surface of Component A connects and docks with the recess on the surface of Component B. The protrusions and recess are designed in the form of a truncated cone rather than a flat cylinder for easier placement. As for correcting the alignment of the cube, there can be thrusters at the 8 corners of the cube. The electromagnet at the end of the protrusion ensures that the two parts are aligned, and then fixed together for a short time. The parts that fit into place with the help of a magnet are then locked together with a mechanism similar to bank vaults. Thus, the assembly is done automatically.


We discovered that we can use this idea not only for a design that facilitates assembly, but also for different purposes. We can design the docking system on a larger scale and build a station or space hotel using cubic rooms!

The cubic rooms will have protrusions on three surfaces and recess on three other surfaces, so the rooms will be able to interlock from all directions. For this interlock, a system similar to the door system in bank vaults will be used. After the truncated cone-shaped protrusion and recess are fully locked, the space in the middle will open and serve as a door. Thus, a transition between rooms will be possible.
We have to realize this project because; It is low cost, construction is easy and the way it works is simple and it does not require human control. This design can be improved and adapted to any mechanism. Our project not only solves the desired problem but also opens the door to new ideas! We shouldn't be afraid to think big. We hope that this simple idea can be use in larger projects, perhaps in the projects about living in space.

Many people have technical information, but we do not have enough people who can contribute the project with their ideas. And we believe we produce fruitful ideas that can be implemented. So we choose a challenge that we can come forward with our creativity.
