Origami Spacecraft| Let's Connect

Let's Connect

For bigger spacecraft capable of executing bigger missions, some of the assembly may be done in space. Your challenge is to design a simple approach that enables components to be assembled in space.

Space Structure with Origami

Summary

There is a limit to launching a large spacecraft with a rocket, and launching it many times will cost a lot of money, making it far from space development. Therefore, I thought that the number of launches would be reduced if the structure of the spacecraft itself would be large in space.

How I Addressed This Challenge

Considering the structure of a spacecraft that grows in outer space using origami technology.

Reduce the number of rocket launches and reduce costs.

How I Developed This Project

Origami technology was used for the solar panels being researched by NASA, so I thought that if the shape could be made three-dimensional instead of flat like a solar panel, it could be used as a spacecraft structure.
