Let's Connect

For bigger spacecraft capable of executing bigger missions, some of the assembly may be done in space. Your challenge is to design a simple approach that enables components to be assembled in space.

Project Lock

Summary

Our project's aims to take large objects into space with little supply and in a short time. This system breaks down the capsules into space and the space shuttle eats less coating so that it can send more capsules in one go and assemble them autonomously in space.Part1 of the part in space itself. After the 2nd stage is aligned, from one piece to the other piece, the T-end with the sensor in the head part is sent a rod and this T-shaped tip is on the opposite locking and getting the two parts closer to each other.3rd stage, after these parts are softly combined with each other on an EMC surface. Our locker is on a circle(as bank vault),the three tools are locked when the circle turn to clockwise.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We found a solution brings more material to space in multiple launches time, shortening the construction time of the object in space and reducing costs since second rocket will not be built. We will relaunch the same rocket. It is important. Because this will be very usefull when building a space hotel. It is a mechanism that connects space capsules. In space, as in the figure on the right the pieces align themselves and throw a rope from one to another it is based on pulling and joining together. During this merger after the parts fit each other, the main parts of this lock, which we designed inspired by some systems around us (for example tube lock system, bank vault) work in the way that the three bars, which we place on a circle at and angle of 120 degrees, lock to circle when the circles is rotated clockwise with a motor occurs as these rods enter inside, it activate a lever system that we kept embedded inside and enables it to be locked in a second way.

How We Developed This Project

It got our interest and we wanted to solution for it. As software we use Autodesk Fusion360 and Blender. One of our problems was isolating the air from the vacuum of space and we used elastic memory composite as the solution for this.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We have used CSA's datas a lot and their examples gave us so much inspiration which caused this project to move on.

Data & Resources

We used NASA's resources and CSA's resources.
