Putting the 'Art' in Artemis

Your challenge is to create an artistic work to communicate, inform, or inspire others about humanity's road to Mars. Your art may be in any form, including (but not limited to): drawing, painting, sculpture, computer generated 2D or 3D, music, film, music video, written or spoken word, dance, and textile.

EPHEMERAL "United Humanity in the Way to Mars"

Summary

Art in any of its forms of expression does not have to be distanced from science, we decided to do an essay combined with in ailustration with a lot of meaning and humor, in which we transmit opinions on education, technology, world problems and its posible solutions, emotions, society, ways to perceive life, but mainly, arguments to show how art has been involved in science since it inception and how it is that in order to reach our objectives we must wotk constantly and with passion for what we do. Art is extensive in its transmission techniques, it does not necessarily have to be reducced to a drawing or painting, giving an argued opinion with thoughtful direction is also art

How We Addressed This Challenge

The way we detail the situations in our essay and how the illustration is executed

was done to convey how exciting and possible traveling to Mars is. We want to

inspire people to follow what their mind and heart desires the most, that any barrier,

stereotype or ideal of society can be broken and progress can be made. We want to

enlighten people in the struggle of differences between the beautiful and fickle of art

and the square and rigid of science; that Mars is not a dream, is a goal.

How We Developed This Project

Process of the ilustration:

At the beginning we started to generate a few ideas, we wanted to do something

related to visual media, convey something motivating in writing, but at the same time

combine it with some drawing and illustration. It was important to mention that going

to Mars is the work of all humanity and that all the events to date influence how this

space trip would take place. We use digital tools like Word, Canva, and Krita; and of

course, different sources to obtain certain data and images. But the most important

thing is imagination, as well as ideas on certain topics and an honest and clear

opinion ... because that is the basis for everything.

We want to show that any type of project has the opportunity to go far, perhaps

creating a prototype of a satellite can be the indication for a real project, with more

seriousness and commitment, but also that a text or an image can generate a huge

impact; maybe motivate to create even more prototypes of satellites, ships, mission

practices, but we think that everything is just as important, if we want a better world,

let's get down to work and do everything in our power.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Within the essay we cited some articles from NASA to make this artistic-scientific

environment a little closer and intelligible, we also made use of images related to the

text and the image. It is exciting to have so much information from these agencies at

hand, to be able to see them in the foreground, images that we had never seen or

audios that we had not heard; close your eyes and feel goose bumps.
