Putting the 'Art' in Artemis
Moon2Mars
Summary
We were inspired by the design of movies' posters, such as E.T, and NASA's pictures. Therefore, we made an artistic work putting toghter our last achievement (the Moon) with our next one.Also, we've appealed to our collective consciousness, and referenced Neil Armstrong's quote "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" to inspire others about our next giant leap: our road to Mars.
How We Addressed This Challenge
Our art calls atention because we put an image of Mars and a classic apollo11 image of the man on the moon together to link the present and future of our spacial achievements. At the same time, we inspire people with a reference to a famous quote of Neil Armstrong. Our phrase rises curiosity about discovering and exploring new possibilities.
This art shows the man looking foward to his next small step and the mankind's next giant leap. In that case, his next step is Mars, so that's why we have Mars on the top. Another interesting fact about our image is that it has a Lunar Roving Vehicle wich makes the person curious about wich vehicle we will use there.
As Carls Sagan once said, "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known". As a result, those verbal and nonverbal elements will certainly inspire people and bring their best wishes about going to Mars.
How We Developed This Project
Our hackathon team is a part of a bigger group of volunteers. Our objective is to help people showing possibilities to deal with their future. This is really close to inspire people to take challenges. Those two activities (our work and the challenge) are similar and we believe art strongly unite both. That is why that our natural choice was to pick the putting the 'Art' in Artemis challenge.
We used Photoshop2020 to creat the poster and canva.com to creat the slides.
Our biggest difficulty was getting everyone together, at the same time, in the same virtual room for more than 4 hours. On the other hand, our biggest achievement was finishing the poster and seeing it's result.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We used two pictures from NASA and the Neil Armstrong's famous quote said while he was on NASA's mission on the Moon.
