We were once dreaming of becoming an astronaut.
With the challenge given, we offer this output through the challenge of Putting ‘Art’ in Artemis to those children and children at heart by showing their astronomy dreams through art.
Through giving importance to humanity’s road to Mars, a history everyone is proud to achieve, we hope to deliver this message of hope and inspiration to the people of this, and the next, generations. It is to raise awareness, emphasizing the importance of seeing the value of this mission, that even in the eyes of our future, the children, this mission is of great importance to the human race.
As children, we all dreamed of reaching the place beyond the sky, the vast unexplored cosmos that lay in wait for those brave enough to venture it. Inspired by that childhood dream, we decided to make an illustration that would capture that ambition, and bring it to the eyes of children, hopefully sparking that same dream within them.
It all began with the planning phase, wherein we used critical questions and available data to create and visualize a concept that people of any age, young children included, can understand and decipher. That concept was a simple illustration of a child floating through space, heading towards the ultimate goal of the Artemis mission: Mars.
Once we had the concept in mind, our artists immediately worked on the drafts and pieces of the illustration, while the rest of the members gathered more data and prepared for the presentation. Working together, we crafted a united piece that held both factual images and fictional artistic symbolisms, catering to children, adults, and anyone who would lay their eyes upon our work.
After this, the final touches and checks were added to place to ensure the quality of the work and its effectiveness in delivering our intended message; our message of hope, and inspiration for the future that awaits the next generation.
We used images and articles revolving around Artemis and the SLS, as well as Orion. Utilizing infographics, written articles, photographs, and dates, we crafted an artistic concept that would attract the eyes of anyone, especially that of a child.
