Summary
Visual and audio perception is very powerful way to grab and direct viewers attention and imagination. We wanted young generation to become more interested in Mars and spend more of their time on it. For above reasons, we decided to create video clip, which features Gale Crater image on Mars and music audio, created by us. With it, we hope to direct viewers imagination and interest to cosmos and science and viewers will become interested how to get to Mars and view this beautiful place.
How I Addressed This Challenge
We have created following video clip: https://youtu.be/5tIzgiSG-Ug. It features Gale Crater image on Mars and music audio which was created by us. The video file aims to grab viewers attention and imagination and direct it to Mars and cosmos. Our target in particular is young generation. We want young generation to become more interested in Mars and spend more of their time on it. Best way to grab their attention is music and beautiful video content. We have combined these two in our video clip and with it, we hope young people will become more interested in Mars and science, than they are now and they will have their on ides on how to get there.
In our video clip we are using only one image instead of slideshow. We carefully made this decision for following reason: instead of rapidly flashing images, viewer becomes more familiar with martian environment, as it scans each rock, hill, mountain, sky, sand carefully and viewer does this under background music.
How I Developed This Project
We wanted young generation to spend time more productively and we think Mars is amazing way to do this. Music and images are very powerful way to grab users attention and direct their imagination. For these reasons we have decided to create video clip.
To crate music audio, we used Groovepad for Android, we did extensive research and selected the sound palette, which in our opinion best matched the goal described above.
After synthesizing audio with selected sound palette, we used Windows Movie Maker application to combine image and audio file and create video clip
How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We have downloaded image from following page: https://mars.nasa.gov/resources/5777/erosion-by-scarp-retreat-in-gale-crater-unannotated/ Using music creator application, we synthesized audio. After this, Using Windows movie maker, we combined the image and music audio file to create final video file
