Team LunAr(t) designed this art piece incorporating images from NASA’s image gallery to inform the public of how far we have come since the Stone Age and the endless possibilities the Artemis III’s journey to Mars could bring us. Our art piece is important because it puts all our accomplishments into perspective and acts as an inspiration to people of all ages in that it demonstrates nothing is impossible. Although mankind’s journey to Mars is a tough one, we hope that this art piece reminds others of previous challenges we have overcome such as our journey to the moon, inspiring them to work harder and never give up on their ambitious goals.
This art piece was developed through the inspiration we took from space travel. We wanted to represent the accomplishments and goals of mankind, along with providing a glimpse of what the future could hold. We used Autodesk Sketchbook to draw the piece, and Google Draw to incorporate the images from NASA. Problems our team had was to come up with a solid design and determine how to convey our love for space while educating others about our journey to Mars through art.
We used two images from NASA’s image gallery. The first is a picture of Buzz Aldrin on the Moon, and the second is a picture of the Curiosity rover on Mars. These pictures helped bring our rather cartoonish and fictional drawings to life. The moon image helped show that humans have indeed ventured beyond the surface of Earth, and the Mars rover shows that we are one step closer to having humans set foot on the red planet.
