Putting the 'Art' in Artemis

Your challenge is to create an artistic work to communicate, inform, or inspire others about humanity's road to Mars. Your art may be in any form, including (but not limited to): drawing, painting, sculpture, computer generated 2D or 3D, music, film, music video, written or spoken word, dance, and textile.

Artemis and Mars:Why and How To Go To Mars

Summary

The 140 million miles road to Mars will one day witness humans going to and from Mars ! In this project we tried to explain how and why we can do this.We created slides, painting, videos and articles to inspire and communicate the ideas of humans on Mars.A painting that features technologies we will use in moon, and which can be used for Mars too.Videos that tell you about Artemis and about humans in Mars. The slides focus on the technologies that we will develop or are developing or will have to develop and the challenges there of to make this vision a reality. There are many articles. One tell you why we want to send human to space, other tells you the hazards during spaceflight.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We created content to inspire people to witness a journey like never before. We developed artwork to communicate the idea that nothing is imposible for human mind. Sky is not the limit! The speck of light that is Mars, which is visible from our backyard, humanity has vision to reach there by 2030s!

To be specific, we made a presentation, wrote some articles, draw a painting, and made videos to communicatie these ideas.

This work is important because everyone needs to be informed and made aware of the capabilities of humanity as a whole, to be filled with awe about our vision of future, which is what we hope to achieve through this project.

How We Developed This Project

We were fascinated by this idea that we are dreaming of sending humans to Mars by 2030s! We wants other to feel this awe for themselves , which is why we decided to develop content to inform people about this idea.

We first studied all the materials we could get our hands on: documents from NASA, wikipedia articles, youtube videos and so on. Then we thought how we can best make people aware of these astounding vision. So we thought of making cool video, delightful painting, beautiful presentations, and simple articles to do the job.

We used latex and google docs to write our articles ( the software used was Texworks in Windows for Lafex), and OpenOffice Impress to develop our presentation, and 'video show' app from playstore to make our video.

We enjoyed the project and in the end created something that can fill someone with the same idea of awe we felt while we first got to know the vision of human in Mars. This is what we termed as our achievement.

PS: Just for fun, we also made an animation of space flight to moon.(It was made using 'FlipaClip' free animation app ).The animation is not scientific, it was just for entertainment purpose ! The journey should be filled with fun after all.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The data from NASA helped us a lot in our project. NASA makes some very cool videos, beautiful documents and great infographics. We tried to model our project based on them.

At some places we have directly used the publicly availably images from this data in our presentation and video to make our slides and videos more beautiful.
