MARS Laboratory: Spreading of STEM among students through space studies

Summary

We propose a project called "MARS Lab" of scientific study and divulgation. We choose the name "MARS" because we think that the idea of going to Mars through the program "Artemis" is a big step into the future, just like our project: students are the future. We developed the Learning Unity (UA- "Unidades de Aprendizagem" in portuguese), which provides an initial step and useful resources for the students. We think that the challenge "Putting the 'Art' in Artemis" is the spirit of our project, because we motivate students to study and think a good way of promoting their research, using all kinds of digital arts like videos, text and images.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Students, especially in Brazil, find it very difficult to understand the scientific method easily. A common problem is the lack of interest or the distance of the scientific media to the real world (the information is available, but we don't know that). As the education in our country presents many challenges, out team was motivated to address this issue. We want out kids understand the importance of science, and how STEAM can change the world.

With this fact in mind, we develop our project called "MARS Lab", a laboratory of curious minds. The students are welcome to expand their curiosity and learn STEAM with passion. More than that: we think that the knowledge must be disclosed in in an artistic way.

How We Developed This Project

We use basic office tools to develop the ideas, and video editing to make our video teaser.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We use the space agency data to develop our UAs and our final video.
