The Streechers has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
We've written a song reflecting the human's dream about the first expedition to Mars. The trip we describe in the lyrics is a successful space flight to Mars performed by NASA. We've suggested that the expedition will be named after the Greek equivalent of the Roman god Mars - Ares, just like the expedition to the Moon is called after the Greek goddess of the Moon - Artemis.
We make use of powerful overdriven guitar, bass, and the spacy synths to make it sound majestical. We've also worked a lot on the lyrics of the song because they contain the main idea we want to carry out.
It should become an anthem of the future expedition and will inspire the astronauts and related personnel to do their work.
We selected this challenge because the most powerful way to inspire people is through art. We are a rock band The Streechers (https://thestreechers.space/), so it was quite logical to choose a song as the form of art. Besides, a song is one of the most emotional art genres, so it is correlates for the goal of the challenge.
We recorded the song at our home studio using Studio One Artist DAW (with stock and 3d-party plugins and synths), an Audio-Technica AT2020 condenser microphone, a Soundking EH031 dynamic microphone, Ibanez GRX70QA guitar, and Yamaha TRBX174 bass plugged into a Marshall DSL1 guitar amplifier.
The main problem was the time limit since the songwriting and recording process usually takes much more time. Another trouble is that we cannot record at night since we have neighbours. However, we managed to write, record, and mix the song in two days.
We used the Apollo 10 highlights at the beginning of the song to provide the story background and to increase emotional feedback.
