We develop a song, a music video and a piece of digital art to have a fully releasable song!
The song starts with a very quiet sound, evoking our past, with sounds of the problems we've faced, making us think and wondering how is that our humanity has reached so far away.
Then the party starts!
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
The second part has the intention to make you dance, enjoy and dream about traveling to the stars, traveling to MARS!
In an era where the music is like fast food, we want to bring a fresh sound, something different but at the same time chill and inspiring as the best have done before (David Bowie, Pink Floyd) we want to make music the next astronauts can hear when they go to space.
Can you imagine a party on Mars with this song?
I do!
First we set the intention we want to develop. So we started on friday playing all the audios, videos and selected the ones we were going to use from the resources available.
The intention was to tell a story through a song using sounds from Space Trips to bring memories of the past and inspire for the future wondering that we've already reached Mars.
The next step was to analyse songs with a similar concept. Artists that have alredy done something similar. We researched and found a BBC Science Focus Article which collected some of the best songs about space. We listened to them and made a sub-selection in order to study their waveforms, frequencies, and composition.
These were:

We were ready to start making our song!
We used LMMS, an Open Source DAW to create the beats, the melody and special effects for the song. Then we made the mix of all the sounds (our own and NASA's) on Adobe Audition. We made some attempts that we didn't like, we had a very nice and relaxing sounds, but on the other hand we had this disco beat we were loving and wanting to use.
We came with an idea of join both parts as a past and a future in the cosmic race.
The inflection point was going to be "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
And so we did!
The second part is more fun and danceable, with the intention to dream about the future trips to MARS, that's why all the sounds used are with a positive vibe as:
"Discovery Houston we have a good picture of Steve"
"Nice to be in Orbit"
"Discovery Houston we're still looking at it"

We already had the song, but this was not enough, we decided to go beyond and do also de the Music Video and its Art to give a complete releasable song! Of course we used videos and pictures of the resources available to create them.
Here is the Single Art:

We've already won with this challenge because we want to keep making space music with the name of "The Techtoniks" We want to bring music to MARS future generations! So thank you because it has been a revelation as a team!
We used sounds of the astronauts expressing some feelings in order to create a story inside our song and also we used sounds from lift offs to make special effects.
Then, to create the Music Video, We saw a great amount of content and we categorized it and selected the fragments very carefully in order to show feelings of worrying (at the begining of the song) and happiness and joy (at the end).

Hope you like it!
