What Is Our Carbon Footprint?

Your challenge is to identify local sources of carbon emissions and/or estimate amounts of carbon emissions for different human activities to aid scientists in mapping carbon sources and sinks. How can you inform decisions to adapt to the consequences of a changing world and aid policy makers in making plans for the future?

Proprietary mint cultivation with CO2 gas from marble quarries

Summary

It is a carbon footprint reduction initiative.Turkey has important marble reserves.When marble powder is processed with appropriate acids, it contributes positively to the photosynthesis of plants by providing carbondioxide (CO2) gas output in indoor environments. It has been reported that if the CO2 ratio is increased in greenhouse cultivation, the efficiency will increase by around 40% . It is thought that proprietary peppermint cultivation will boost the country's economy and increase the steps that reduce our carbon footprint.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Carbon dioxide emission data from marble quarries are not available in country reports.

Data analysis of private companies are kept confidential.

International publication of the report on Turkey has been reached.

How We Developed This Project

Carbon dioxide emission data were downloaded. 5-year predictions were made with a software program. Scientific literature was examined. 3D modeling was designed.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Turkey's carbon dioxide emissions data have been analyzed. The carbon footprint is calculated. Carbon dioxide emission reports of marble quarries have been investigated. However, no data could be obtained.
