Summary
Application where the user will register and follow, in an easy and gameficated way, as their carbon pursuits. Able to combine elements to engage people in an interactive and educational way in relation to their actions.SDG considered: 13 - Action against Global Climate Change and e 17 - Partnerships and Means of Implementation.
How We Addressed This Challenge
developed the Green Legacy App that will inform and encourage people concerned with the impacts of global warming to become protagonists of the changes we hope for the world. Through a fun and interactive method, people will be encouraged to record their actions, change some habits and influence friends and their community to reduce their carbon footprint on the earth.
The proposal is to have schools, communities, condominiums, companies and the public sector
everyone engaged in this change!
Each one will individually access the application and follow its journey in order to be
increasingly sustainable and "friend of the world" and at each stage the
people will earn badges and rewards that will be sponsored by companies
partners and that will serve as an incentive for other users to continue in this
same journey!
Through the data collected, specific activities may be proposed together with
companies and public bodies to encourage local actions and increase the
community engagement.
The proposal is to generate a sense of belonging to all involved to make
together the change we want in the world!

How We Developed This Project
Currently, the carbon emission data generated by NASA and other agencies are global and widespread, so people do not understand very well which individual actions would be effective in reducing their impact and contributing to the environment.
The Green Legacy App proposes to encourage individual actions by people, each contributing small actions that, in the whole, can have great effects for their communities, cities, states and nations.
No programming language was used.
The methodologies used were Design Thinking and Canvas.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We will use JAXA, CSA and ESA data. After that we will cross this data with data from google, waze and the proposed application itself to calculate the carbon concentration in the region where the user is.
