NASA’s activities in space have brought new knowledge of the Earth, inspiring new ways of thinking about humanity and the planet. However, many people aren’t aware that NASA studies the Earth in addition to other planets. Your challenge is to tell stories of NASA’s Earth science enterprise using interactive digital tools. This will test your technical skills and your ability to think like a historian or educator.

Summary

Our topic was to create a digital history about the various achievements and observations from space research . We decided to solve this problem by making a website . We decided to add small articles instead of long pages just containing information as we wanted everyone to take advantage of this and to make this happen we have to focus more on the visual and interactive side of giving the data.Adding timelines ,videos , links to real time telecast(for the ISS) etc are simple ways to make it user friendly.This project has a vast area of expansion .Making an app version of it ,adding VR and better graphics is an idea of expansion .This achieves our target providing the information easily.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed a website with short articles instead of pages of data . The articles are written in simple language and hence can be understood by anyone. The research about the earth and space is vast and our aim is to not only provide people with this data but also make it user friendly , simple and interesting.

How We Developed This Project

We personally were introduced to this vast expanse and importance about space research quite recently and we think that all the people around us should be made aware about this,interesting and brain tickling field.We decided about making a website for this project as it is versatile on every platform and OS . We made it on website building site and used a bit of CORVID . We have a prototype ready but we think that it has a vast scope of expansion.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The data and pictures provided by NASA was very helpful for us as our project was to present useful information about space research to the people in user friendly way.

We used a book about the planetary protection programs and many planetary images.
