Climate-Crew has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
Our team 'Climate-Crew' has developed a user friendly website under the challenge 'Mission To Planet Earth - A Digital History' .
Our challenge is to- Inform. With the help of our website we have tried to provide a simple timeline of the history of our climate, starting from the primitive interpretations; which includes the mythologies, and how mankind tried to explain these phenomena by associating them with ‘gods’. Further, we have underlined the eras from greenhouse to glacial periods. We have provided a unique insight to the current scenario of our beloved planet, which is technically still in an ice age! We have highlighted the works of lesser known scientists who have contributed greatly to these fields, these include, Louis Agassiz, Milutin Milankovitch and Svante Arrhenius. Apart from the developments, we have also provided some prerequisite knowledge that the user ought to have about climate, in order to understand why NASA is working towards gaining a better perspective of our climate with the help of satellites. Moreover, we have also given a layout of three of NASA’s satellites which focus on the changes in our climate, namely, AQUA, CloudSat and DSCOVR. The data contributes by these satellites have allowed us to furnish a proper structure of the Earth’s atmosphere.
Our website has been created using wix.com, which is an open forum for creating websites.

To gain insight on impact of climatic changes on our planet earth, we started creating a digital history of earth’s climate and the changes that has been observed in modern times. We started focussing on creating a narrative of climatic change that can be understood by a common man in an interesting and engaging manner. In order to take the viewers on a virtual tour, we have showcased the history of climate change since the formation of earth. The website will provide simplified and engaging information to curious minds, staying at home during COVID-19.
What one sees on our website, is nothing but a pure amalgamation of collective teamwork, deep research and perseverance showcased by our team, The Climate Crew.
In this website we have included all the data collected by different space agencies like NASA, CSA, CNES, JAXA, and ESA. In this project we tried our level best to include not only gathered space-based data, but they also compiled archival data and share analysis and results of various climatic projects launched by these agencies. We have presented the information and data in a very simplified way so that person with limited background knowledge can get an idea of outcomes and results of many multi-million dollar climatic satellites launched by space agencies. We specifically focused on NASA’s three satellites – Aqua, Cloudsat and Dscovr. In order to cater all type of users, we have also provided the link for NASA’s Scientific Visualisation Studio, which allow us to create a surface temperature anomaly or trend map for a specified time period. All this this data made our website fun and informative.
