Mission to Planet Earth: A Digital History

NASA’s activities in space have brought new knowledge of the Earth, inspiring new ways of thinking about humanity and the planet. However, many people aren’t aware that NASA studies the Earth in addition to other planets. Your challenge is to tell stories of NASA’s Earth science enterprise using interactive digital tools. This will test your technical skills and your ability to think like a historian or educator.

Summary

Engage others about scientific and historical information of space and Earth through visuals. I try to educate people through visuals and facts, knowledges about the space. Here, I used an example of Jupiter's Moon IO.

How I Addressed This Challenge

I have made a video by using just the images and video sources made available by NASA and other space agencies. Yes, from the archives! I clipped them together with music and interesting facts that makes people enthusiastic about knowing the beyond. Hope it works!

How I Developed This Project

Step by step:


  1. Firstly, I gathered informations from NASA site and other sources and created a script.
  2. I collected images, gifs, videos available from the archives
  3. I converted the script I have, into an audio narration
  4. I composed a soundtrack by myself.
  5. In movie maker, I arranged the images, videos, accordingly with the narration, applied animations, captions. 
  6. Finally, mixed them all together - Images, videos, music, narration into a video file.
How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

I tried to use the data in raw. I haven't edited it. I just used it in raw. and actually, the datas I have learnt actually influenced me in creating this project or be a part of this program. I started loving space by looking at those images, and learning about the informations about space right from my childhood. It started off from paper cuttings.
