Hey! What Are You Looking At?

The High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC) archives space agencies' data from missions studying electromagnetic radiation from extremely energetic cosmic phenomena (e.g., gravitational wave detections, gamma ray bursts, and supernovae). The Canadian Astronomy Data Center (CADC) is another repository containing missions studying comets, asteroids, and exoplanets among other things. Your challenge is to create a visualization tool that can help people interested in these phenomena to access the data quickly and easily.

Summary

We want to help people who have poor access to information about space. So we made an application there were websites and applications before. But none of them was user-friendly. And it was complicated to use them. We used phyton for coding. Compared to other applications, our project is searching for all of the information that user needs which makes it faster to reach data. In our project, the user will give us the location and will get a result such as information, images and etc. Which is about what they are looking for. when we tried to use it, we saw that our application is working properly and fast. So we reached our aim.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed a space object viewer. It is easy to use. User can give the coordinate of the objective that they want to explore to the program and they get an output which is about the objective. Our goal is to make everyone reach to the information about the space better and easier.

How We Developed This Project

We chose this challenge because we love coding and once we were doing a project about a star, and it took hours to collect all the data from a lot of different websites. Then we thought it would be helpful if there is just one website to reach the information that we need which is also helpful for people that cant reach information. So we have chosen this project and developed it. We have used Python to code the GUI and the back-end. We had some problems because of our computers, except those everything was fine.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used this data to get the information about the space object that the user wants to learn about.
