Bilimin Çakıl Taşları 1| A One Health Approach

A One Health Approach

Air pollution is a major global environmental health risk, causing an estimated seven million deaths across the globe annually. Your challenge is to take an interdisciplinary approach, using both Earth science and health science, and integrate different types of datasets and applications to study the effects of air pollution.

Searching For The Correlation

Summary

When we reviewed the result of a research focusing relation between death rates and air pollution, we decided to study relation between COVID-19 cases and air pollution data of countries. We collected data for 10 countries and applied correlation function on it.However, no apparent correlation emerged as a result of the research.Comparison may be difficult, as the ways in which COVID-19 case data are collected differs from country to country. The proper conduct of the research can be achieved by developing more stable and global data collection methods.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We created a table by bringing the two data sources together. If we can find a correlation between COVID-19 and air pollution, It may help humanity to defeat this virus.

How We Developed This Project

We tried to correlate air quality data(AQI) and COVID-19 case data. We collected and compared different types of datasets.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used a lot of data about air pollution from https://earthdata.nasa.gov/.
