A One Health Approach

Air pollution is a major global environmental health risk, causing an estimated seven million deaths across the globe annually. Your challenge is to take an interdisciplinary approach, using both Earth science and health science, and integrate different types of datasets and applications to study the effects of air pollution.

Healthy skies

Summary

This project is an observation, study and comparison between some of the most polluted cities to some of the cleanest cities in the world with respect to air pollutionWe focus how polluted/cleaner a city than that of the average statistics and understand the reason behind itWe study the effects the air pollution in these cities regarding both landscape and health of the peopleWe see how Covid-19 pandemic has affected the pollution levels as well as the research of the scientists during the pandemicProvide the possible solution for reducing air pollution for cleaner and sustainable environment

How We Addressed This Challenge

we developed a solutions to reduce the air pollution which is a root cause for many problems such as health effects, soil/agriculture effects, water quality etc.

How We Developed This Project

Air pollution which is root for global warming, ozone layer depletion etc are one of the traumas our earth is facing today. All we do is take take take going on polluting this green world for our own selfish deeds. Its time for us to open our minds and save our mother earth. This is the reason which made our team take this problem and solve it to have our green and healthy earth back.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used many data for our project like,

Google

https://eodashboard.org/- We were able to collect the data on air quality in different cities around the world which helped us to study on how the places are affected

https://ephtracking.cdc.gov/DataExplorer/#/- We were able to collect the data on disease control and prevention. We actually used this to compare with air quality of a particular place and the number of people diagnosed with respiratory problems

https://so2.gsfc.nasa.gov/no2/no2_index.html- This helped us to monitor concentration on NO2 in our atmosphere in various places
