A One Health Approach

Air pollution is a major global environmental health risk, causing an estimated seven million deaths across the globe annually. Your challenge is to take an interdisciplinary approach, using both Earth science and health science, and integrate different types of datasets and applications to study the effects of air pollution.

Air pollution and the global health

Summary

Air pollution is a true disaster that the whole world suffers from. We observed that the highly polluted areas like India, Brazil, and South Africa has a high rate of diseases, this was shown clearly after the COVID-19 pandemic as the polluted areas have a higher rate of spreading and deaths. According to this data, we made a blog that analyzes the relation between air pollution and global health nowadays and the relation between air pollution, spreading of Covid-19, and the number of deaths.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The challenge’s idea mainly concentrates on making people familiar with air pollution, relation with health, and Covis-19 and its effects. Our project discussed and analyzed the relation between air pollution and global health nowadays and the relation between air pollution and the spreading of Covid-19 in a simple way that can be understandable by all ages to raise their awareness that will help decrease the danger of this phenomenon.

How We Developed This Project

We were always interested in solving challenges that face humans and the environment to make their life easier. Air pollution has been a big problem that affects human beings for decades. So, we found that it is important to create a platform that can help people to know more about this disaster and how to decrease its danger and provide solutions for this. First, we searched about the problem and document in detail every information we found about the problem, then we tried to link what we have found to the human health, the environment, and its effects on them.

Secondly, we made a blog that contains all data needed to reach an ideal awareness by what we have collected from information in an organized way and easy to be read by users.

Third, we made a video that demonstrates all about the problem and how you can use the Blog.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We searched on different websites to collect data we need to provide in the blog, got a lot of information from those websites, especially from NASA's website and NASA's partner agencies' websites.

All those websites were particular and helpful to provide an ideal project only. We used them mainly in collecting data about air pollution, COVID-19, and health to relationships between them in a simple way to benefit all people.
