A One Health Approach

Air pollution is a major global environmental health risk, causing an estimated seven million deaths across the globe annually. Your challenge is to take an interdisciplinary approach, using both Earth science and health science, and integrate different types of datasets and applications to study the effects of air pollution.

Summary

We are proposing a website as a solution that has two parts, one is for Disease Predictability and notifying the patients, and another part is predicting the vegetation probability and notifying the farmers. Both the prediction is made by training two different machine learning models with the data which we collected from different NASA open data sources. A demo mobile application has been also used to keep the vulnerable user notified about mask use and prevention.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The idea was to create awareness among people about the details of pollutants present in the air, and how they are affected people specially those who are having a medical history. Also, people can be notified about plantation which is suitable grow in their area which can absorb the pollutants.

Its important because air pollution is causing a lots of deaths according to the official data from NASA and WHO per year. Its also harmful for the children.

How We Developed This Project

We Created a website using Python and Flask web framework. The Logistic Regression machine learning also was used to predict the probability of disease and pollutants absorption. Also, the notification management system is created for patients of particular disease and also for the farmers to grow a particular kind of plantation to absorb the pollutants in their respective area.
