We developed a cat-shaped robot, which collects information about the soil, whether it is fertile or not, the minerals and the pH of the area. This is important because it helps the planet (as the information of living beings that live there, thus affecting also the atmosphere, finally all of us) and the scientists. If it finds a material that is not organic or it considers it garbage, so it vacuum it up and it is taken to some of its stomachs (sorted into plastic, metal/aluminum, etc.) forming a brick. This cat works by forming a link between the programmed aspects, and the interactive aspects of its body, charged with solar energy, its information takes it to a page in real time for the scientists. The objective that we have is to look for the information and take it to the scientific centers, where it is necessary for their investigation and communication to the others, also to clean the areas where it finds the information helping this way to reduce the contamination and to diminish the greenhouse effect.
The project we are going to present is called Gato Azuleta. Send the information if the soil is fertile or not, its minerals, etc. This will be collected and sent to a page in real time (for example, GLOBE) for the use of scientists, and raise awareness. Also to be able to demonstrate how the decrease of land and the consequences are progressing. It will also collect the garbage that is on the ground, and compact it in order to reduce pollution.
What he is going to do is to have cameras to show where he is going, observe the environment, weather conditions, the soil, and more, and also a microphone (in case any animal or problem happens). It will be charged and run on solar energy, so there are no complications of running out of battery and be totally ecological. With its legs it will collect information about the minerals, whether there are organic materials or not, the pH of the soil, etc.
If it finds a non-organic material (garbage) it will vacuum it up and make it stored in one of his stomachs, the garbage it collects will be compressed and thus create plastic, metal, aluminum bricks, etc. So that they can be reused for ecological houses.
Thanks to the resources they gave us, we were able to learn about the importance of cultural biodiversity (about life, types of land, among other things).
With this we were able to make our project. We also used the resources page of the GLOBE website to see the importance of the soil and how it affects our environment and us.
