Scanning for Lifeforms

This challenge addresses a pressing global need to track change in biological diversity, which is threatened by human-driven environmental change. Use space agency data to develop innovative ways to detect biological diversity on Earth, track and predict changes over time, and communicate that information to scientists and society.

Summary

Our idea is to develop an application that helps to find plants and species for reforestation. This application use satellite data and suggest types of plants which are suitable for that area to grow. Not only that it helps to find areas where it need more trees.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Day by day we can see we lose millions of trees and forests because of rapid developments. As a solution for that hundreds of organizations and individuals arise for reforestation. But most of individuals don't have an idea of suitable plats for that area. This app helps to find species which are best for them.

How We Developed This Project

We didn't develop it yet. We hope to use Matlab and some algorithms for image processing

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We use NASA earth data and satellite images to identify types of forest in the selected area and Leaf area index data for identify areas having trees
